Archtiecture of the Mind 2 - HannahCharlotteArt.jpeg
Artist Statement

My work explores how we interact with our surroundings, how the spaces we inhabit shape us, and in turn, how we psychologically occupy them. Themes of memory, escapism, personal history, and mental landscapes are central to my practice.

Using architectural aesthetics as a metaphor for internal complexity, I investigate the emotional and psychological significance of physical structures, particularly domestic spaces that carry the weight of lived experiences. Through laser-cut wood, drawing, light, and soundscapes, I construct immersive environments and site-specific installations. Motifs such as staircases, ladders, doors, and impossible architectural forms serve as vehicles for mental navigation, self-awareness, and emotional transformation.

At the core of my practice are human values and mental health, examining how shifting perceptions of space, memory, and the mind alter our experience of the world, blurring the boundary between psychological interiority and external architecture.
