This illuminated laser-cut sculpture explores the relationship between memory, place, and inner architecture. Formed from layered maps of the artist’s hometown, the suspended cube transforms physical geography into an emotional landscape - a meditation on how spaces continue to exist within the mind long after we have left them behind.

Light radiates from within the structure, projecting fragmented pathways and shadows across the surrounding walls. These shifting projections become metaphors for memory itself: unstable, layered, and constantly reforming. Streets once walked, childhood routes, familiar corners, and forgotten spaces are reconstructed through light and absence, suggesting how environments become permanently embedded within our psychological landscape. The sculpture reflects the idea that home is not only a physical location but also an internal space carried by memory, emotion, and experience.

The overlapping map fragments mirror the complexity of personal history - how different moments, emotions, and environments intertwine to shape identity. Suspended within the gallery like a floating archive or fragile relic, Memory Chamber creates a contemplative space between past and present. The work invites viewers to reflect on the places that formed them, and how architecture, movement, and memory continue to shape the internal structures of the self. Part of Hannah’s ongoing Pathways of the Mind and Emotional Geographies series, the sculpture extends her exploration of psychological space through architectural forms, light, and immersive installation.
